I’m back from my first convention ever as a vendor! Woohoo! It went fantastically, and if anyone I met at the Origins Game Fair sees this, I just want to say I had a fantastic time meeting everyone and talking to them about awesome things! (Most likely the Hobbit or Doctor Who). :) You all made my first show great, and I’ll definitely be back next year!

Now that my schedule’s a little more normal again, we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled updates! Actually, I think they’re going to be MORE regularly scheduled now. I’m going to shoot for an update every Monday and Friday.

ALSO, now I’ve got a whole bunch of merchandise left over from the con, so if you’re interested in any of these prints or any original work you can find it at my Etsy shop here!

Look, rainbow monsters!! :D

In case anyone is around or interested or attending, I’ll have my own booth at Origins Game Fair in Columbus, OH this year. Woohoo! You can get individual prints or bookmarks of these cuties there, along with prints of a lot of my other work that I’ve posted on Tumblr and elsewhere on the internet.

(Also psst: depending on how much stuff is left over afterwards, I might hold a supercool little giveaway here soon.)

Anyhow, Origins is an AWESOME convention all about board and tabletop games and larping and is run by the Game Manufacturers Association themselves (GAMA). Look for me if you go! When I’m not at the booth I’ll also be teaching a class on creativity and attending some games! :)

All 13 dwarves and 1 hobbit from The Hobbit! This has definitely been an educational experience, and I think I can confidently identify each dwarf now. Or semi-confidently. I at least can remember all the names now, which is accomplishment enough for me!

I made a nifty Cyberman sketch in anticipation of the new episode tonight (which I sadly probably won’t see til tomorrow night).

I’m really excited for this episode because I’ve definitely had a harder time getting into the Cybermen. Daleks always had the really cool back story of being these insane rage filled war machines on a quest to destroy all other life, and Cyberman are just these emotionless assimilation-bots. So I’m super stoked to see what Neil Gaiman did with them in Nightmare in Silver. :)

I’m definitely finding that painting an animal is an awesome warmup for me. It’s almost always really fun and way more confidence-building than worrying over a portrait for an hour.
